In addition to traditional textual subtitles,
PLYmedia is proud to offer two audible accessibility features. Both features
help you present your videos in various languages and allow your users to choose
the soundtrack language they prefer when viewing your videos. This choice facilitates the
localization of your site and is beneficial for accessing international markets.
Both features are ideal for news broadcasts, narration (on documentary, educational or nature films), commercials, tutorials, sporting events, children-oriented sites (especially those
below reading age) and countless other purposes.
Talking subtitles
- Cutting edge technology that creates an automatically-generated soundtrack from your subtitles.
- A human-like voice "reads aloud" the subtitles of the video.
- Advanced text-to-speech software.
- A cost-effective alternative to dubbing and voice-over (no need for recording talent).
- Very quick turnaround.
Voice-over
- Offers audible translation of web videos recorded by a professional voice-over talent.
- A common localization technique used in television broadcasts in many European languages.
- A cost-effective alternative to full dubbing (one recording artist rather than many).

How it works:
- The example contains both a voice-over track and a talking subtitles track.
To access both, hover above the "SUB" button at the top right corner of the
screen and a drop-down menu of subtitling languages will appear.
- When you choose any of the languages from the menu, its corresponding
text subtitles will appear.
- When a language is chosen for which voice-over or talking subtitles are available,
a microphone icon will appear on the left hand side of the subtitles.
- The icon contains an indication of whether the soundtrack contains voice-over or talking
subtitles (automatically generated).
- Click on the icon to activate the sountrack. The icon will turn green when activated.

- In this example, the French soundtrack is the voice-over and the Spanish soundtrack is the talking subtitles.
